Slot Machines, Needles

In John Steinbeck's novel The Grapes of Wrath, the Joad family stops in Needles when they enter California on Route 66.

We stopped briefly in Needles (so I could take this photo) while on a road trip from Palm Springs to Oatman in 2019.
If there was more time at the time, I would have loved to have had a good look around. Next time Needles.
