Temple Isaiah, Palm Springs

The first thing that struck me about this buidling was the reflection of the sunset in the long window, perfectly placed to watch it from inside the building.

Undertaken by architect E. Stewart Williams to design a synagogue for the fledgling community of Temple Isaiah founded in 1947, and its first home was completed in 1951.

The original building consisted of a sanctuary and community center, as well as offices, library, and a central patio. The original ark was designed by architect Donald Wexler while Williams designed the menorah as well as the woodwork.
